My Two Paragraph Reflection The speech itself was very radical. I enjoyed writing this speech because it helped me vent my anger and relieve some stress. I was also glad about how the presentation of the speech went. It was entertaining and it grabbed the attention of the audience. The audience laughed and this proved that my speech was compelling. In addition, my speech wasn't too long nor too short. My ideas made sense for the most part and appealed logically to the audience. I also think that my speech was easy to comprehend because I made valid points about what the administration of KIS should fix. Students here at KIS also have the ability to understand my speech in even greater depth because all of them are affected by the after-school policy. I believe my speech went over all the flaws and weaknesses in this policy and exposed them. Finally, I believe that I gave the audience some belief that they could do something to change it.
Although my speech had plenty of positive aspects, it also had a few negative aspects as well. The biggest thing people started to notice was by excessive movement. Looking over how I presented my speech, I believe that I could've moved less. This is because many members of the audience began to lose focus on me as I acted many things out on stage. I must remind myself that it is a speech and not a play. Also, because of my excessive movement, some people say that my speech sounded garbled and that my use of words was a bit repetitive. I must say I did not know about the garbled speech until I read some of my evaluations. However it is a very high possibility and believe that I must improve on this as well. As for the repetitive use of words, I also must agree that this was one of the main weaknesses in my speech. As I moved around the room with excessive emotion and feeling, I lost track of some of the words I was going to say and by that point it was too late to go back and reiterate some of the points I already presented. This was also another main weakness in my speech that my audience pinpointed.
